The Countess of Strathearn at the Order of the Thistle

Kate was in Scotland for William's official investiture into the Order of the Thistle.  Much like England's Order of the Garter, although lightly more recent, the honor is in the Queen's personal gift.  Kate wore a custom Emilia Wickstead for this event.  The hat works with the yellow of the dress, the brown shoes also pair nicely with hat and dress, Kate is smiling and proud.  All is well.  But I don't like the dress. At all.  And it is custom! What happened here?! It looks shortwaisted on her, or like a pregnancy dress. I am not sure, but it seems in a situation where all should have been well, all was certainly not.

This was a miss for me.  I don't hate it. But, I definitely don't like it.  The hat, shoes, and colors are all spot on, but something is off with this dress...

Someone on Twitter mentioned that William looked awkward in his robes... Hahaha, he did, but doesn't he always. Love this, though, the history and tradition.  Monarchy at its best.
