William and Kate Royal Honeymoon Photos

As you probably have heard, Women's Day Australia released photos of William and Kate on Honneymoon on the beach in the Seychelles.  A significant hoopla followed. Of course.  You all already know how I feel about pictures of the royals.  Just to put this all in perspective, so far we have only seen some shots of the couple strolling the beach.  The beach, not lounging by their pool in the privacy of the jungle--or whatever it is--, not a long lens into their bedroom taken from an uncomfortable crouch in the bushes, not a helicopter hovering over their private pool.  They are beach shots. We have seen them before and we will see them again.

This was the honeymoon of the biggest wedding of the decade, you knew someone, somewhere was going to get some shots.  Furthermore, they have been together almost ten years, so maybe we should think of this as more of a special vacation... This royal pair holidays very regularly, as the unpleasant media oft likes to hype, and for all those oversea jaunts, we actually have fairly few bikini shots of the lovely Kate and her Prince.  We have airport shots, and beach shots from certain times, but it isn't as if they have never pulled off a private vacation, in fact, the majority of the time they do.

I don't think this is the end of the world.  I don't think the photos are ridiculously invasive, and I don't think that it is all that shocking or surprising.  To close, a brief note to all the extremely offended individuals decrying this horrific privacy invasion.  You all look at the pictures, too.  The majority of people who think it is horrible and take a moral stance refusing to link or share look at the photos themselves first.  If you really wanted to give the royals full privacy like normal people you would stop following them all together, as if they were just normal people.  It's like sitting on the freeway cursing the traffic---you are the traffic.

So that is that.  I think this is a tempest in a teapot, and I think that William needs to get new swim trunks. :)  Those are wild!
