Kate is a Grecian Goddess in Los Angeles!
Balmy Southern California evening erupted in clapping, screaming, and swooning, as Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped out of their car and onto the red carpet at the Belasco Theater. Well, I was worried that the dress through the garment bag looked a little plain for the glitziest night of the tour, but even with the first glimpse, it was clear that Kate was the perfect princess! This dress is simple, but the oh so elegant with a full sweeping skirt. The understated glamour of this dress definitely blew away every other dress that walked the red carpet tonight.
The dress is reportedly an Alexander McQueen and has just the right amount of sparkle at the waist to give it the needed dazzle. This evening gown was true Duchess material, Kate as usual knows best and was spot on. I am not saying that her hair pulled up wouldn't have been fantastic, but I can go both ways with Kate. In some ways, keeping everything simple and "Classic Kate" highlighted her effortless star quality and underlined the fact that she is a princess and a royal.
As an American, I was very pleased to see William and Kate briefly walk down a line of watching fans shaking hands and greeting the crowd. Very, very gracious of them, even though it had been announced they would not meet any fans.
Stunning evening for fashion, and a successful evening for the modern Monarchy!
