William Leaves Edward VII Hospital after Spending the Day with Kate
The press have set up camp outside the Edward VII hospital where Kate is currently hospitalized with severe morning sickness. Prince William stayed by Kate's bed all afternoon and left the hospital around 8:30pm.
I was driving around today thinking with excitement about a royal baby, and I suddenly realized that this morning sickness sounded kind of scary. When I got home and did some research, it is a rather serious problem--not at all normal morning sickness It sounds like Kate might be fairly miserable for the first trimester at least. Thankfully, properly treated, mother and baby should be just fine. We know that Kate will get the best of care.
Although initial reports were speculating that Kate was under 12 weeks, it now sounds as if she is much earlier than that. The palace specifically said that the couple would not have announced this early at all had they not needed to hospitalize Kate. William must be frustrated to be forced to make an announcement before he or Kate was ready. From all accounts, the Middletons were only told this weekend because Kate was getting sick, and the Queen informed right before the announcement to the press today. Probably not exactly the way he had envisioned this going.
The good news is that his wife is pregnant, and both these two have been talking about wanting children for some time now as if they were more than ready. I am sure despite the discomfort and misery Kate is going through, she is excited to be having a little baby!
